Very nice Chuck.
I also like to tell the table that they are a part of my crew. So those of us in stripes and those with pencils or buttons to press are on the same team. And then tell them that we'll work hard together and have a good game.
At lower level games or in gyms that have a reputation for table problems (especially if HS students are at the table) I'll remind them no visitors or cell phones during the game (including half-time) and to be sure and make eye contact with me or my partners when we report.
I've also learned if you'll communicate with the table a little informally before the game (for example during introdcutions) make a little joke (one of my favorites is to ask the guy playing music to play "FreeBird"), that will loosen everybody up a bit and get the game started on a good note with the whole crew (officials and table).
