Why would it take away? At most, these situations that were approved come about once...maybe twice at most in a single game and even then, the overwhelming majority of games won't require the use of replay.

And I would think simple vanity and ego would mean an official would want the monitor to prove him right. I doubt any NBA official is going to slack on perfecting their craft and trying to get every play right they can.
