If the pitcher can grip the ball well enough to pitch, we play. As to the field, I've never had to make that call. Either it was cancelled by game management before I took the field, or we finished. The in-between case where we started, it never rained hard enough that pitcher couldn't pitch, yet it rained long enough to make the field a problem has never actually happened to me.
