IP. I hate this rule, I hate this rule, I hate this rule. And I consider it a coward's response.
The only rule difference is that they may pitch from anywhere behind the PP for 6'. That does not change any of the other rules.
Once the pitcher comes to the required stop, the next motion must be the delivery of the ball. The pitcher
may take
a step in any direction as long as the pivot foot remains in contact with the PP and the step is simultaneous with the pitch.
If the pitcher takes more than one step, that means the pitch was not simultaneous with the permissible step and at some point, the pivot foot lost contact with the PP.
