Are you in a hurry during every game you work? The main and most important reason why the isn't a "last out runner" rule is in NFHS softball, it's about participation. The CR gives a
student/athlete, who may not have played, an opportunity to do so.
A few years ago in Ohio we had the ITB. It didn't last long, and when it was removed everyone, coaches, umpires, players and parents, were happy. It works in weekend tournaments when time is short but why change the way the game is played just to end a few minutes quicker?
