Although this remark really doesn't have anything to do with refs, it's still stuck in my memory (along with 1950s television shows).
In HS, when an opponent was going to shoot his first FT, we would chant:
"SEE THAT BASKET, SEE THAT BALL - C'MON STUPID, HIT THE WALL!"
We didn't do it every time, but probably 3 or 4 times a game. No one ever chastised us for it.
