I coached for a long time before officiating. I began my coaching immediately after Indiana's 1981 championship. I admired him in the beginning
and absolutely loved the way his teams played. This episode took almost all of the glitter away from my eyes and everything else he did afterwards convinced me that he was a great basketball mind but a deeply troubled person.
