You didn't specify which ruleset (high school/NFHS, ASA, etc.,), so I'm going to give the ASA answer.

If the batter swings and the ball hits her, it's an immediate dead ball, a called strike, and runners can't advance. If it's strike 3, the batter is out. The rule citation is ASA 8-6-D.

Did the umpire acknowledge that the ball hit the batter?
