GJV Last weekend had a surprising close, well played girls JV game, about 2-4 points apart the whole time until the last three minutes. Fourth quarter the Visitors are pressing and the lead visitor point guard intercepts a pass right under Home's basket. She quickly lays the ball up for two and the whole gym goes deathly quiet! Wrong basket!!! Home team up by one point now. Last 6 seconds of game home is still ahead by one. Same guard that made lay up in wrong basket, gets the ball at about the division line and dribbles up to the free throw line. Fires off the ball in heavy traffic with a fade away jumper no less (even left the ground) and makes it! Her team wins by one, I've seen great looks of relief on faces but hers is the best I've ever seen! Those two baskets were the only ones made in the last three minutes of the game, both by her.
