Can anyone give me a description of the two type of lanyards that are being discussed? I use the ones that are a "necklace" type with a "thingy" that tightens around my neck. I loop them through the shirt loop, over the neck and then tighten.

You put it through the loop, then over your neck? Isn't that kind of like wearing a belt and suspenders?

I have seen clips on to the shirt loop. I don't like this one because I have a long neck and the whistle comes up to about my chin, very difficult to blow the whistle at that point!
