That partner may have been correct. The distance from 2B is irrelevent. There are too many questions. Where was the player positioned prior to chasing the ball? At what age level does this girl play? That may have been an amazing play by a girl playing at a level where that play is much more than routine.

Just being a pop-up in the infield doesn't make it an infield fly. The player's ability can be a determining factor.
