Even if B1 isn't displaced, it's not a stretch to think A1 "bounces" back (as indicated in the OP) or sideways thereby creating space. Physics. For every action there's an opposite and equal reaction. If A1 "bounces" away from B1 far enough, he may well gain some advantage otherwise not gained had he not had collided with the B1. Wordy, huh?
