A note from a fan

Thank you for the very entertaining and insightful forum you have here. I've been learning a lot.

If you will indulge an outsider's opinion on basketball officials, here it is:

I really enjoy the fact that basketball is played, coached, and officiated by human beings who make mistakes.

One official calls a "T" when his partner would not? GREAT! This is what adds another dimension of the game-- the human interaction.

A seasoned and experienced official makes an honest mistake and blows a call? WONDERFUL! This adds to the debate and excitement after the game.

A normally efficient timekeeper is slow to start the clock at the end of a close game, and it is later discovered this could have affected the outcome? BRING IT ON!

What I am saying is that if we could replace you with computers who called every play in every game perfectly, the game would lose a dimension.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO!
