Guys you don?t get that much rain. Ever live in New Orleans with its 64 inches a year? Heck, even my new home town outside of DC gets more rain than you do.
It's not about inches but hours/days. Yes, you get 64" per year while we get about 35".

However, you get it in buckets at a time with lots of sunny days in the middle while the Pacific NW gets it as a nearly constant drizzle from late October through April or May.

As I like to say: It only rains once per year here. It starts in October and stops in May.
