If he redirects the ball by reaching down and "striking" it in a controlled manner with his hand, seems to me that that would constitute a dribble. If he picks up the ball with both hands and dribbles it, I think we have a violation. He may, however, pick the ball up with a dribble and continue.

It is definitely a HTBT, it all depends on what the "redirection" looks like. If it is a controlled bat, and goes directly to the floor, sounds like a dribble to me.

It's no fun without a decenting opinion, right?
