The above is sad on its own.
I guess some people are so intent on getting into the NBA that they resort to such methods. He was obviously good enough to officiate at that level, but unfortunately he cost himself a chance to stay because he compromised his integrity. I'm shocked that any college assignor would hire him after that.
First and foremost officiating is about integrity. The coaches, players, and your partners have to have trust in you or it simply doesn't work.
Now we have a truly tragic end to this individual.
