This was a new one for me!
Yesterday, I go to our local pool to unwind after work and get my laps in (I used to swim and dive in HS).
As I'm swimming, the pool is setting up for their first "practice dive meet" to get the youngens ready for the rituals and all.
As I'm simming I hear louder than usual music playing (I wear ear plugs) and realize someone is singing the National Anthem.
I stop in the shallower end, face the flag, put my hand over my heart, and wait for the song to end. Claps all around, let the diving begin!
First time that ever happened to me.......
