On West Mich's answer, I agree with the end result but I have to disagree with part of his response. The runner (R2) would not have to be tagged to be out. She would be out by the defensive player simply touching the base. This is in a "live ball" appeal situation. A runner leaving a base before the catch can be put out on a "live ball" appeal by the defensive player touching the base and not be reguired to tag the runner........
