It's also another chapter in the "hard line" approach the Yankees are taking in dealing with its "core four". Did anybody read Cashman's comments after the game? He pretty much went right at Posada, saying that he wasn't hurt, he spent an hour trying to convince him to play, and saying that suspending or fining him wasn't out of the question. This kind of treatment is reminiscent of how Cashman dealt with Jeter during the off-season in contract negotiations. It's like he's purposely telling everybody, "We know we have to keep them b/c of what they mean to the franchise, but we don't really want to".
Aside from that sideshow, how about Beckett? He was fantastic, and Ellsbury is on fire, which is unbelievable. That was a fun game to watch. Anybody see/hear Sarah Silverman in the booth with Buck and McCarver? The funniest part was McCarver literally trying to make himself disappear. He was so uncomfortable with her there, it was hysterical. At the end of the inning, Buck said to her, "Thanks for not testing out 7 second delay".
