Here is a fun situation. How would you rule? It'll make you think.
Teams are White and Blue
Held ball. Arrow points to White's Basket. Possession award to White on the Alternating Possession procedure. On the throw-in, the thrower tries an alley-oop type pass but has the ball lodge inbetween the rim and the backboard. The ball was last touched by the thrower.
You blow your whistle and rule:
Who gets the ball?
Where do they get the ball?
What happens to the possession arrow?
