My concern as an assigner and an ump when calling 'other' organizations (other than the NGB and it's affiliates) is insurance and coverage. Many of these 'other' organizations websites do not mention umpire coverage in their insurance and registration requirements. In years past, we used to be able to rely in Bollinger, but with each passing year they are narrowing the coverage requirements. (and rightfully so)

I simply won't call these 'other' organizations because I can't get the answers needed as an official from the respected organization (and I have tried for the organizations in my area many times)

It only takes one twisted knee or even a freak accident (or worse) to ruin an umpire's day (year or decade).
