You’re the least experienced (by years) but you’re in the leadership position & you just want to work well as a crew without all the other bs that you have witnessed personally & through the testimony of others.
I would do the best possible job you can possibly do and treat them like any other unknown partner. This "partner" will probably just make you look good if they are that "bad". Its tough when your partner is a veteran and probably won't receive correction. I rarely correct my senior officials, but I do give my opinion where I can.
