Not to take the conversation off point, but I've had several different experiences as far as leaving the court is concerned.

For freshman games, most of the time we'll have two with limited time in between games, so we're all but forced to stay on the floor in between. Halftimes are usually 5-7 minutes and we're in the back gym, far from the locker room, so we don't bother taking our jackets back there at halftime. That, of course, means we have to go back to the table to grab the jackets after the last game.

For sophomore games, we take the more traditional approach. I really do prefer this, especially in a close game.

One assignor I work for handles I think 5 conferences, and this only happens at his games: After the game, my partner will grab the ball, and we wait at halfcourt for the teams to finish their handshakes, then they'll come over and fist bump us. It doesn't happen all the time, but I'd rather get out of there!
