I meant starting a weight training program. As I stated earlier, when I started incorporating weight training (especially squats and deadlifts), I found that helped a lot with my knee by strengthening the muscles around the knee.

Of course I'd ask your doctor before starting any of this. And if you do, I'd do a lot of research/try and find someone to teach you proper technique.

As a side note, I'm a big proponent of weight lifting. Really helps with the wear and tear of the season. Especially during the off season, I'm doing heavy bench, deadlifts, squats, pullups, etc.
