I got a pair of the NB 606 this summer just before camp -- they were great! I plan on ordering a pair of NB 608 soon to alternate throughout the season. I simply had a local store special order them for me. (Internet is ~$5 cheaper.)
I also added a very firm gel insole -- don't remember the brand, but I got them at a shoe repair store for ~$15.
I recommend the NB shoe, but will pass to those with more experience on various brands of inserts.
