Celebrate Diversity ...

Excellent greeting! After all, America is a country of immigrants, from diverse religious backgrounds, many who came here because of our religious freedom. Even the Native Americans were immigrants, just a whole lot earlier than most of our ancestors.

I actually had a debate with our former Connecticut governor last week. He believed that "Season's Greetings" and "Happy Holidays" are poor substitutes for "Merry Christmas". I explained to him that I work in a very diverse workplace, with Muslims, and Hindus. I know that my colleagues would certainly not be offended if I were to wish them "Merry Christmas", but such a greeting could border on being slightly rude, knowing that they are not Christians.

I'm as Christian as the next Christian (note my signature), but I'm also quite tolerant, and I celebrate the diversity in this great country.

(I just wish those Jehovah's Witnesses would stop ringing my doorbell.)
