Where did he say it was the first quarter? I have had several games this year already where one team is up by 15 or more in the first quarter.
Not only is it good to check the arrow after an AP throw-in, it's good to check it right after the opening tip to make sure it is set the correct direction. It's a good thing to pregame.
Now I just want to know what a "bubble" is in the OP.
