I see your point, but it doesn't really answer my question. When I first blow the whistle, what is that initial signal? What do the fans see? What does the manager down at the end of the bench see? What does my evaluator see!?!?!

A big fat nothing!!! How do I look? STUPID!! Shouting "Time-out" doesn't help -- it's not crisp, clear or helpful. I'm just out there lookin the fuuulll.....

What do they see/hear?
(Blow whistle) Stop clock signal. (Verbalize Time out and color) Give 4-point Direction of Team requesting. At the table you verbalize, 4-point direction and 30 sec., or not.
In Michigan, we use the women's mechanic of pulling taffy.
