Had five rec games today, two girls', three boys'. In each game before the jump i reminded the players to keep their jerseys tucked in, becuase of what happened to Luke Jackson of U of O this week. Of course, none of them had heard about it, so I then told them that he had gotten his hand tangled in an untucked jersey, and a thread got wrapped areound his finger. As he tried to pull his hand away, the thread cut into the base of one finger, causing a nasty slice that took 10 stitches to repair, and will leave him on the bench for three games, at least (this is how the Oregonian explained the injury). The girls all said, "ooo, how gross!" The boys all said, "Three games?" or "Did he get the ball?" I'm not quite sure what that last one meant, but none of the girls said it, and three different boys did. Just interesting.
