My reasoning is this, A2 caused the ball to have FC status by touching the ball in the FC, then when he collected the ball in the BC it became a BC violation, even though he never had established "player control".

Take a look at Mark Padgett's 4-point OB scenario (backcourt- Ralph Stubenthal)
In your case, you did not have the initial requirement of team control, because, although A2 had FC status, he was not holding or dribbling inbounds, and thus did not have Player control. Since he was the first to touch, there, also, was no team control, until he collected the ball in the backcourt.
