HSWH, I have to disagree with you about starting with the youth leagues. I called 125 games this year from youth to varsity. I learned the most in the Jr High and JV games while working with veteran officials who had time to help. The guys out at the youth games were great guys, but I had to really work at not picking up the "youth" mechanics. Two years of pure youth league would create a lot of habits that would have to be broken later on. Maybe in your area you have a surplus of officials and can do this, but in our area, we can't. JMHO.
