TD callbacks
We had 4 last night. Yes, 4. In a 20-13 game won by the visitors. None of these series then resulted in points.
(1) Takedown hold by the RG/RT (I can't remember which) at the point of attack. U's flag.
(2) Takedown hold by the center at the point of attack -- this was the last play of the first half and I, of course, had to go over to the sideline to explain why we had to play an untimed down. U's flag.
(3) Weird, weird play where the quarterback, flushed out of the pocket, tried to underhand scoop the ball to a receiver and a very athletic lineman picked it off and took it about 70 yards for a score -- there were 3 separate illegal blocks in the back on the return (thrown by the U, L, and LJ on three separate players). I was trying to not get run over while sprinting to the goal line.
(4) Grab and restrict by a receiver on a TD in the fourth quarter -- the kid that scored went by the official and said, "9 held, right? I could see it as I went past him"
When we left the field, somebody asked us if we did the Packers game last week.
Amazingly, the home team (who took 3 of the 4 penalties) didn't argue much, if at all. And they *still* had time to tie the game at the end and ended up losing the ball with about 1:30 left on a fumbled snap.
