From my corner of the country

The numbers for outdoor track (or even indoors for that matter) are not surprising to me.

My son ran track several yrs ago and here in N VA it seems to be a participatory sport for many.

During “Four School Meets”, when they would run the 110M dash outdoors, using eight lanes, there would often be 15-20 heats! It took forever. Once you got past the first one or two heats it was obviously a big drop-off in talent. But hey, the kids were out there trying. Indoors, the 55M dash was the same thing.

Certainly made for some long, long days……
