Agree. In the real world I've seen almost all officials in my local area go straight to the "T" signal, including probably me. I can't be sure about myself because whenever I give technical foul, which is seldom, I'm usually pretty pissed off, and emotions take precedent over remembering what I've done, and, of course, if I've done it correctly.

But according to the book, by the numbers, for the purpose of a test, or an evaluation, I believe that we're always supposed to stop the clock with a signal first. Since a technical foul is indeed, a foul, then we should stop the clock first with a closed fist.

After all, if we don't signal to stop the clock with an open fist signal (violation), closed fist signal (foul), or thumbs up signal (held ball), then the clock operator won't know when to stop the clock, the clock would keep running, and our crew would be out of there in record time. Of course this would mean more time after the game to consume adult beverages. Hey. Wait a minute. I think I'm onto something here?
