To call a technical foul he first stops the clock with an open hand, and then follows with the "T" signal. Here we stop the clock with the closed fist foul signal and then follow with the "T" signal.

Comments from other parts of the country?
The official is odd because he's not using NFHS approved and accepted signalling.

The "thumbs up" signal ...#3 of approved NFHS signals in the rule book...is captioned "stop clock for jump/held ball". He's telling you to signal to stop the clock twice iow.

All foul signals should be preceded by signal #5- "stop clock for fouls".

Not the best site for accuracy, fer sure.
