That's right, I forgot to tell you about my granddaughter!

No, I prefer the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. And I always make it a point to see my favorite artist, presently out of Austin, Texas, Marcia Ball.

Long Tall Marcia Ball. Excellent musician indeed, even greater voice. I've been a fan of hers for nigh on twenty years now. Would you believe that once, a long, long time ago, she actually released a country/folky sounding album before giving in the her passion, the blues? If you like her music, Mike, there are a lot of artists other artists that you need to check out. You ever listen to John Hammond or Ruthie Foster? How about that new guitar slinger extraordinaire from the Austin blues scene, Jake Andrews?

Scott
I've seen and talked to John Hammond at the Tin Angel in Philly. A friend of mine opened for him. I've heard of Ruthie Foster, but not Jake Andrews.

Problem with the blues is that there are so many artists out there that have their own niche in the business and many are satisfied to stick with the home cooking and don't travel that much.
