As a ref, I doubleknot my shoes every time. For players I have to go with JR (had an untie issue last night as a matter of fact). I look at it as a safty issue. I'll try and wait for a dead ball if possible. If the coach wants a stoppage then he has time outs. If the ball is already dead, I don't see the harm in taking an extra few seconds on the inbound to let them tie up. If it happens repeatedly I will tell the coach to fix the situation.
