The OhioHSAA got involved because the school in question was from NW Ohio and was telling the game umpires that the school had a letter, from the OhioHSAA, at the high school specifically giving the school's players permission to wear said necklaces. The only problem was that no such letter existed because the OhioHSAA had never written one.
