unless I'm missing something, Gottleib does not think that there is anything to the "Kryszewski Effect" (that's as close as I could come to spelling his name right....). OTHER coaches - who spend lots of time worrying about the officials - think there is a "Coack K Effect", but Gottlieb doesn't think it exists.

I will say that his point about the NCAA tourney but a much better officiated tournament is accurate. If you want to advance in the tourney, you better call the game the way John Adams wants it called (which invaribly is different than the way individual conf. assignors want it called - the "regular season" is where Adams has no jurisdiction/authority).

Talent, along w/ very good coaching, tends to take over in the tourney. I think that is the main reason why Duke hasn't been as successful in the last few years. Duke has had good talent - but not great talent in the last decade.
