steve, help the OP out a little, and just answer the OP's question. the OP has 4 post history. this isn't a ball field you are umpiring. you are allowed to coach on a forum, and even be a little human and explain it. OP has come here to ask for help.
OP, no run can score if a BR does not reach 1B for the third out, whether batted or awarded. they gotta run it and touch 1B, or else it's as if they got put out before reaching the first base bag.
the NFHS rule is 9-1-1a
"A run is not scored if the runner advances to home plate during action in which the third out is made as follows: (a) by the batter-runner before touching first base.
ASA rule is similar, but I have an old rulebook, rule 5-5-B-1.
