Thumbs up

HAWKS:

I totally agree a player should have an idea where the lane is and understand that he should not camp there. However I cannot and IMO no one should penalize a post player for coming off a nice off ball screen work into good position to score by getting around a defender only to have someone whistle the ball going the other way for the post player leaving 6 inches of his heel in the lane. I may be a bit adament about this today as a few days ago. I worked w/ a first time partner who called 10+ 3 second violations in one girls varsity game. Had it been lazy play fine but 75%+ were nit-picky. Totally interrupted the flow of an otherwize good game. It was tough to remain tight lipped and back up my partner as the coaches and players increasingly questioned the calls. I did have a constructive talk w/ partner afterward but he being older didn't seem to understand why I should be trying to "help" his game. I dropped it and then took satisfaction in why I get 3X the games he does JMO
