Wow, that just gave me a great idea.
Recruit some high school basketball players who might want to become an official after high school and have them officiate with some veteran officials for biddy games, like a mentor/mentee program.
I'll bring that up with the one rec program here where I'd rather a basketball player ref'ing than a volunteer coach.
