Originally all I had on my Sat. schedule was a single private middle school boys game. I get a call from the assignor that assigns all of our association's Middle School, Freshman & JV Games asking me to help him out in the recreation league he also assigns.
So last night's Varsity double header was at a school 1.5 hours from the house. In bed by Midnight up at six to leave house by 7 to arrive at first of 6 wreck games. 3 8th grade boy's games at first venue, 15 minute drive to arrive at second venue do 3 more, boy's 7th grade games. 20 minute drive to arrive at SINGLE Boy's private school game. Walk in as National Anthem is starting, duck into restroom, make it into court area and see two Girls teams.??? Partner tells me they added Girls game so now instead of one game to finish up the day it is now two. I see the HS Varsity head coach and the AD in the stands so don't want to show that I am in my 7th and 8th game of the day. Gutting out old T new L runs was a b!tch.
I am now home, after 10 games in 22 hours. I have already soaked in a tub of epsom salts and still had calf cramps twice.
So Mark how do you survive all those weekends doing 14-16 games in 2 days?
