Best coach discussions I observed from the greybeard zebras ...they all drop a lot of "by the rule" or "by rule" phrases in discussing calls.
"By rule that call was right...."
"By the rule book and intentional foul is ...."
"I agree that was close but by rule ...."
Kind of takes the emphasis off you and onto the rule book.
They get the point and we save face.
