Last night I was pregaming with a new official. I noticed the game ball was a little flat, so I asked the athletic director to put some air in the ball. He came back later and said he couldn't find the electric pump. I said no biggee I have a pump in my bag. The new reff said, "you carry a ball pump in your bag?" "Well, yeah, of course!" ( I actually just bought it last summer) I whipped out this hand pump that costs $8 and its made by Nike, called a dual action ball pump. The pump is about the size of a hot dog. I added three pumps of air to the ball and we were in business. My partner looked at me like I had just found the cure for cancer. This is the first time I've needed a pump in 10 years of officiating, but I would recommend it to all officials due to its compact size and cost. It comes with 2 extra needles too!
