I know the inbounder, A1 is required to go directly onto the court. However I am not aware of a rule requiring A2 to go directly onto the court.

The same rule would apply to A2 as applies to A1.
10-3-2: A player shall not purposely and/or deceitfully delay returning after legally being out of bounds.
