nah, i try to say as little as I can. I don't really vocalize my ball calls and take my sweet time calling strikes and calling outs. sometimes, on the bases, on a routine out at first, the runner will be almost in his dugout before I signal the out. the more obvious the call, the more time I take to "acknowledge" it.
as for demuth, he's a 26 year MLB vet with major league credibility, as far as i'm concerned, he can yell "Bonzai!" for strikes if he wants or pull his best ron luciano impression if he wants. sure, mlb umps can have lazy mechanics but they have the credibility to carry them.
