OK how bad was this... Yesterday - normal game, everything is cool..
High and Tight heater, with the catcher trying to catch it, it whizzing past my head.. ball goes to the back stop..
she drops the bat, I almost think she is going to charge the .. mound.. (circle), I kind of do nothing...sort of waiting for them to tell me what happened so I know to call
..
She says "It hit my hand".
So .. I, being the MLB Umpire I always wanted to be said: "show me your hand". She takes off her glove...and i begin my medical examination..
Sure enough, my trained professional opinion was that big bruising that was quickly forming was indeed induced by a softball projected at high velocity.. and I send her to first base.
And commence to fighting with the coach that hands are part of the bat.
So lay it on me, how bad was that?
