This was special....

This wasn;t a run-of-the mill 70's hockey game...this series was War.

This was the first-ever meeting of Canada's best vs Russia's best...and it was, literally war. The Canadians literally felt it was them against ther world. Their own fans booed them in Canada. There were "shady" doings happening on the Russian side...and the officials, well, they weren't up to the taks thrown at them.

This wasn't just another series...it was national pride and hockey supremacy on the line.
