I found out last night who my partner is for this game (and my other two games tomorrow morning). It's an "older guy" (and for me to think of someone as an "older guy" means he's really, really old
) who still wears a collared shirt. In fact, I think it has a chest pocket. Since he's a computer programming geek, I think he also uses a pocket protector (just kidding there). He wears black rimmed thick glasses and rolls tape around the nose piece (not kidding there). He has an "around the neck" lanyard and a plastic pea whistle. At least the whistle is black.
Having said all that, he's really a pretty good official and a nice guy. His mechanics and communication level are both great. He's got a decent sense of humor but he does have one fault. He takes way too much crap from coaches and players. So, whenever I work with him (which isn't too often, by the way), it's a real contrast in styles when it comes to that stuff.
This is going to be even more fun than I first thought.
